Another thread based on my own experiences, because if the positives of cold water don't motivate you to take cold showers, here are the negatives.

1. Decreased collagen production.
  • Showering with cold water boosted my collagen production and made some of my undereye veins less apparent, and I'm pretty sure that the hot water heavily contributed to the creation of the dark circles and visible veins under my eyes. I also wouldn't have as many stretch marks if I used cold water.
2. Overproduction of oil and sebum, while also drying out your skin.
  • Contributes to breaking out.
3. Erythema Ab Igne (toasted skin).
  • I have this all over my body now and it's probably permanent. Basically the worst one out of all of these because it can contribute to making your body feel cold all the time and it's visible.
  • I wish I knew about this one the most.
4. Hair and nail damage.
5. Weaker skin barrier.
