hey guys!

im on track to save up enough for a procedure that could actually make an impact on my appearance. after discussing it with my parents (who got really mad about me bringing up surgery) I kind of have two options.

my main concern is my slight facial asymmetry. my jaw is tilted more to the right side of my face/ my eyes are unevenly hooded. obviously can’t fix the eyes with orthodontics. to address the issue a recommendation was either braces or Invisalign. my top teeth look okay but my bottom row is crowded. that would run me almost $6k from the quotes I’ve gotten so far.

two other facial issues is my bigass nose and slightly recessed chin. a nose job would cost around the same as my teeth treatment. alternatively I could get filler or a genioplasty.

idk im all over the place but my question would be what should I address first? is it smarter to fix my teeth and then get surgery or would it be smarter to try and fix my profile first.

I feel like a vain asshole asking but I just want to feel pretty. ☹️

damn my braces aren’t covered whatsoever by insurance, you got lucky then. and thank you for your input, I really appreciate it. I hope your rhinoplasty goes well

really??
id literally highly recommend u find an insurance that covers braces
it would be cheaper then paying out of pocket

its probably like around 300$ for insurance dental

Thanks scotfield. I don’t agree with side profile not mattering though. That’s what people see 80% of the time when they look at you. Major cause of insecurity for me.

I didn’t even know insurance could cover them wtf

I was told that anything orthodontics wise is out of the scope of insurance coverage. I will do some research then! Can I ask if your treatment was considered medically necessary? I’m assuming that because my case isn’t too severe they won’t take me seriously

changes depend on ur severity a lot, look up angelababy before orthodontics and after it was huge

mine was!!
i dont even have bad teeth LOL

90% of braces r covered by insurance because its technically functional not cosmetic

just say u have an over or under bite

also dental insurance covers

try to find a place that is a dentist with orthadontic center (like together) that may help bc thats how my dental place is

Exact same issue

I’d say orthodontics first

holy cow that can’t have been solely because of orthodontics. I don’t believe there wasn’t plastic surgery intervention. She looks fantastic though

You get me. It’s fucking brutal in pictures front camera looks great and then any off guard picture is a nightmare.

And tysm I scheduled a consultation for next week. I appreciate the input

Ofc cutie 💕

I have a slight overbite too and i got braces extremely easily w a referral
like i said if u find a place thats a dentist and ortho office its muchhh easier

also if your a minor it will be much easier to get it with insurance

she definitely had surgery but she had some great orthodontics like she found this guy from japan who fixed her whole lower third js through dentistry

If it’s any help the asymmetry is 90% only noticeable to you since going from front to back camera (or normal to inverted) obviously makes it stick out a ton

People who see you day to day are used to seeing you that way, the same way you are used to seeing yourself in the front camera so it looks normal
