Introduction
I've thought about making this after making a reply to someone, i've realized that many here do not know how to actually get information off of things and simply regurgitate information from others which could be inaccurate, here i will be showing you how I personally learn about compounds.
ChatGPT
Before you murder me let me elaborate, i use chatGPT primarily to find studies based off of a topic i want to learn about then read the study, for this guide i will use abaloparatide as an example.
PubMed
Pretty easy, now you search PubMed via the PMID it provided, so head over to
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Now that you've entered PubMed you will want to enter the PMID into the search bar as so.
Now you will get to your study, often PubMed will primarily give you just an abstract, if you're fine with that, very well, if not simply copy the PubMed study title and paste it into google.
As you see, theres many sites that show an identical study with a full study, more than just an abstract.
(And more of course, just cant show it all in a single screenshot)
Learning pathways
Now that helps significantly but something else that helps is looking at which exact pathways of the thing you're researching, this is another simple google search.
Research on these pathways using the previous methods, learning pathways gives you a better understanding of what you're actually researching and in my opinion is crucial for ancillary planning on some compounds, so i highly recommend learning the pathways that your said compund acts on.
Rule of thumb
Now a good rule of thumb is to read 3 studies from different sources and making sure those sources are reliable.
