Good, Urdu is an imported language anyway. My Urdu is conversational only. Which city were you born in and did you live in? I was born and raised in The Netherlands myself and I speak Dutch and English fluently.

French is one those languages I absolutely dislike. I don't like the way it sounds. In Dutch high schools, we are forced to learn French and German, so I know a little bit of both languages. And I see, Sialkot, that's the city in Punjab your family is most likely from, then. I have never been there but I do know it's near Kashmir. I like the idea of Pakistan, but it's honestly a shithole. Too many problems, lots of corruption, etc.

haha seriously?
i learned french further than i had to because i really liked the language - but i get it could be annoying learning it in school.

i personally don’t like pakistan as a place all that much, but im not ashamed of being from there.

Yes, seriously. I'm guessing you're from Quebec, that's the only French-speaking place in Canada. I don't imagine they'd force you to learn it elsewhere in Canada, although I could be wrong. I live in Rotterdam myself, it's a forty-minute train ride away from Amsterdam.

Interesting, why don't you like it? Is it because of the same issues I was talking about, or is it because you are atheist?

Ahh, I see. I have got a relative in Canada, well.. she's not actually a relative, but she's the relative of an in-law, so my family considers her to be family, too. She's married to an Arab guy, and she owns two dogs. Sounds similar to me, I learned English myself. I learned it by watching television as a young kid.

And right, that makes sense. I would say many Pakistanis in the west are more on the secular side, but due to pressure from home they're more religious but in a loose sense, if that makes sense? Like, it's not uncommon for them do things against their religion.

It seems like we're all online at the same time, which makes it look like we're in the same timezone. Since that's unlikely, I'm curious: where is everyone from? if you're comfortable sharing, your ethnicity as well.

I’m personally Moroccan, splitting my time between the Netherlands and Belgium.
im from Chechnya

Welcome, first true kavkaz on the forum I think.

You would have been a true posterchild for our mustache man, welcome to the forum.

Hmm, I didn’t know that. I’ve always had a lot of love for my Chechen bros, one of the few groups I genuinely respect in real life.

:peepoLove: Appreciate it, I've had a lot of morrocan friends also in the past, can't really talk bad about any of them.
